BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF WORKS: Main objectives of the rehabilitation are to allow the dam to provide flow control for the Nura River and to manage mercury contaminated sediments in the Yntumak Reservoir. The works will consist of completion of the partly erected Yntumak reservoir on the Nura River, including rehabilitation of the earth fill main dam, 1.6 km long, max. 22.5 m high; new construction of spillway with rubber dam, design flood 3,000mł/s; refurbishment and adaptation of the bottom outlet and installation of a small hydro power plant (SHPP), approximately 700 KW.

The Republic of Kazakhstan has received loan from the World Bank toward the cost of the Nura River Clean-up Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract NRC-B3 “Yntumak Reservoir Rehabilitation and Technical Reequipment”. The contract will be jointly financed through the budget of RK. Bidding will be governed by the World Bank’s eligibility rules and procedures.

The Committee for Water Resources of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan now invites sealed prequalification proposals from eligible bidders for NRC-B3 “Yntumak Reservoir Rehabilitation and Technical Reequipment” contract. Works include:

  • ·  Rehabilitation of the earth fill main dam, 1.6 km long, max. 22.5 m high, by construction of central slurry wall and localized jet grouting
  • ·  New construction of spillway with rubber dam, design flood 3,000mł/s
  • ·  Refurbishment and adaptation of the bottom outlet
  • ·  Installation of a small hydro power plant (SHPP), approximately 700 KW
  • ·  Construction of staff settlement
  • ·  Connection of the entire dam facility and SHPP to the public power grid
  • ·  Rehabilitation of Aktobe village protection dam including construction of dewatering facilities

Construction Period: The project shall be completed within two construction seasons – 2008 and 2009.

Bidding will be conducted through the international competitive bidding procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines:
Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, current edition, and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the guidelines.

The Republic of Azerbaijan has applied to the World Bank for financing in the amount of US$ 230 million equivalent toward the cost of the National Water Supply and Sanitation Project (NWSSP) and intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for construction of water supply and sanitation infrastructure in 20 selected rayons. Most existing facilities are beyond repair and only very limited rehabilitation is justifiable. The contracts include construction of water supply and wastewater networks as well as supply and installation of water and wastewater treatment facilities. There are three categories:

(a) Construction of water and sewerage networks.
(b) Erection and installation of water treatment plants.
(c) Erection and installation of waste water treatment plants.

The Azersu JSC intends to prequalify contractors to become eligible for bidding for these contracts. Applicants may apply to become deemed prequalified for any or all of the above listed categories of contracts. Six or seven contracts are estimated in the range of US$ 20 million to US$ 50 million equivalent. Applicants will have to demonstrate that they have sufficient capacity and experience to carry out the above described contracts. It is expected that invitations to bid will be issued in August 2007.

Prequalification will be conducted through prequalification procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines:
Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, May 2004, and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries, as defined in the Guidelines.

The Government of Uzbekistan has received a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development towards the cost of the “Uzbekistan: Water Supply, Sanitation and Health” Project. Part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payments for the supply of water meters under the Contract 10G7/8.

The Project Implementation Unit (PIU) under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Uzbekistan now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders, which have to meet the qualification criteria listed in the below paragraph for the supply of water meters under the contract 10G7/8 “Procurement of domestic water meters for the city of Nukus.”

In order to be qualified bidders should have at least one successfully completed contract on delivery of water meters within the last five years. Equipment to be delivered should be certified and/or comply with the standards of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In addition, equipment to be delivered should be manufactured not earlier than July 2006.

Georgia has received a credit from the International Development Association (IDA) toward the cost of the Irrigation and Drainage Community Development (IDCDP) Project, and intends to apply part of the funds of this credit to payments for works under the contract for the Flood Protection of the Drainage Schemes in Tsivi-Tekhuri, Tekhuri-Nogela and Nogela-Tskhenistskali Areas in Senaki and Abasha Districts (Contract No. IDCDP/CW/TSIVI/ICB/18-2007).

Tsivi-Tekhuri, tekhuri-Nogela and Nogela-tskhenistskali drainage schemes are located in West Georgia, in Senaki and Abasha Districts, on the right bank of the Rioni River, 296 km away from Tbilisi.

The rehabilitation envisages the following works: rehabilitate water receivers of Tsivi-Tekhuri, Tekhuri-Nogela and Nogela-Tskhenistskali drainage schemes (3 cross regulators, galleries and tail races), restore the design parameters of the Tsivi, Tekhuri and Nogela main drains (23.1 km)and rehabilitate the damaged structures (10 bridges).

The MDF now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the Flood Protection of the Drainage Schemes in Tsivi-Tekhuri, Tekhuri-Nogela and Nogela-Tskhenistskali Areas in Senaki and Abasha Districts.

The bills of quantities for the main works are as follows:

The Kyrgyz Republic has received Grants from the International Development Association (IDA) (No. H 212-KG) and Government of Japan (PHRD No. TF 056324) towards the cost of the Water Management Improvement Project (the Project) and intends to apply part of the Grant funds to cover eligible payments under the Contract KG/WMIP/Works-1/2007 “Kajerty Headworks and Off-farm Canal System Rehabilitation”. Competitive Bidding will be conduct based on procedures of the International Competitive Bidding. All bidders from eligible countries can participate in the Competitive Bidding in accordance with definition given in the World Bank’s Guideline: Procurements by IBRD Loans and IDA Credits (May, 2004).

Project Implementation Unit of Water Management Improvement Project, Department of Water Resources of the Kyrgyz Republic invites eligible bidders to submit sealed bids for implementation of the works under the Contract KG/WMIP/Works-1/2007 “Kajerty Headworks and Off-farm Canal System Rehabilitation” located in Naryn Rayon of the Naryn Oblast and consisting of the following works:

  • ·  a) Drilling and Blasting Works;
  • ·  b) Ground excavation works
  • ·  c) Monolithic reinforce concrete structures
  • ·  d) Steel works mounting
  • ·  e) Quarry stone lining with top layer placement under the “string” level and garretting
  • ·  f) Cobblestone linig
  • ·  g) Arrangement of power supply with installation of transformer substation power lines.
  • ·  h) Construction of a brick apartment house with utility room
  • ·  i) Miscellaneous.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain additional information and look through the bidding documents from 0900 to 1700 hours (local time) Monday through Friday at the address below and for the non-refundable fee of US$ 250 or its equivalent in Kyrgyz Soms based on the National Bank exchange rate set up at the day of payment, or in freely convertible currency, the payment shall be made by money transfer to the PIU settlement account:

The Bidding Documents will be sent via courier delivery.

Bidders have to prepare and submit their bids to above address not later than 1000 hours, local time, on 25 June 2007, when the bids will be opened in the presence of all bidders. Late bids will be rejected.

The contract will be awarded to a bidder meeting qualification requirements and offering the lowest bid cost.

Bids shall be valid for the period of 90 days after opening of bids and should be accompanied by a Bank Bid Security in amount not less 2 per cent of bid cost in Kyrgyz Soms or equivalent amount in freely convertible currency.

Local contractors with appropriate qualification will have the right for the certain benefits (at the rate 7 ˝ per cent) upon evaluation of the bids.
